A Visual Study of Sex Education

This piece is a visual response to Losing It, by Sophia Smith Galer, a book which explores the oppressive values placed on women’s sexual health across the world, including the harmful sex myths that dictate how these women live their lives.

The collage explores the pressure put on women and young girls in many cultures to be completely silent about discussing the intimate parts of their bodies, as well as the many truths hidden from them regarding their own health.

A collage of a peach with a hand over it in the 'shush' symbol to reflect the oppressive rules placed on women and girls in some cultures in regards to discussing their sexual health.
